About the Providence Group board members

Michael Davies is a co-founder and Director of the Providence Group of companies and is CEO of the Providence Group.

Following his education Michael went on to join the British Army Corps of Royal Signals as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in telecommunications in 1997 and during this period Michael covered all strategic and operational covert intelligence gathering disciplines. During his 5 year career in the UK Special Forces, Michael specialised in technical surveillance and completed several operational tours including operations in the Balkan States, Mainland UK, MENA region and elsewhere.

In 2007 Michael went on to become the Technical Director of a United States Department of Defence counter-insurgency program and assisted in the successful $40mn contract award and delivery for the US government followed by a multi-million dollar contract award and delivery to another UD DoD client. Following the completion of the program Michael went on to co-found the Providence Group of companies in 2009.

As CEO of the Providence Group, Michael is responsible for leading the development of the long term strategy of the Providence Group of companies, as well as being responsible for creating and maintaining shareholder value. Michael ultimately takes responsibility for all day-to-day management decisions. Michael also acts as a direct liaison between the Board of Directors and management of the Providence Group of companies and communicates to the Board on behalf of management. Amongst many of his duties is corporate governance, development of organisational policies and goals, personnel, financial performance and growth of the Providence Group of companies as a whole.

Michael has been a significant driving force behind the growth of the Providence Group of companies from its inception as an idea into a multi-million pound global business that is recognised as a world leader in covert Intelligence and Counter Terrorism product lines, consultancy and training. Michael’s ability to constantly recognise, adopt and in many cases develop emerging technologies ahead of the market is what makes the Providence Group of companies the dynamic and potent organisation that it is become today.

Peter Stolwerk is a co-founder and Director of the Providence Group of companies and is COO of the Providence Group.

Following an early career in the Royal Dutch Military Police, Peter started working within the wider Dutch law enforcement community and joined a SWAT Special Operations Unit in 2002. During this period Peter was involved in many high risk, Counter Terrorism and hostage rescue operations.

Since leaving the law enforcement community in 2006, Peter worked within the commercial sector where he built up an extensive client base within the various special operations communities worldwide. This resulted in Peter assisting several high profile Special Forces units with specialist equipment procurement activities.

As COO of the Providence Group, Peter directs, administers and coordinates the internal operational activities of the organisation in accordance with policies, goals and objectives established by the CEO and the Board of Directors. Peter leads and directs the operations and marketing and coordinates the establishment of new business for the Providence Group of companies. Peter assists the CEO in the development of organisational policies that enhance operations, personnel, financial performance and the growth of the Providence Group of companies as a whole.

Peter brings 20 years of experience in the law enforcement and special operations sectors and has been instrumental in the development of new business for the Providence Group of companies, particularly within the European Union and the wider European continent.

Stephen Turner is a co-founder and Director of the Providence Group of companies and is CEO of Counter Threat Solutions.

Following an early career in engineering, Stephen joined the British Army Corps of Royal Engineers (RE) in 1988 and joined 22 SAS Regiment in 1998 and during this period completed a full operational tour with the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR). During his 17 year career in the UK Special Forces, Stephen specialised in surveillance, expeditionary intelligence gathering techniques and dynamic targeting and completed several clandestine operational tours including operations in the Balkan States, Mainland UK, MENA region and West Africa.

Since leaving the Army in 2005, Stephen has worked in the commercial sector, including spending time as a Senior Security Advisor to global media organisations and to the International Federation of Journalists in Baghdad; his work has meant providing security in challenging environments such as in Iraq, Lebanon, the West Bank and Liberia. Following this period Stephen went on to co-found the Providence Group of companies in 2009.

As CEO of Counter Threat Solutions, Stephen is responsible for leading the development of the long term strategy of Counter Threat Solutions and as well as the Counter Terrorism Training and Counter Terrorism Equipment Procurement services offered by the wider Providence Group of companies. Amongst many of his duties is corporate governance, development of organisational policies and goals, personnel, financial performance and growth of the Counter Threats Solutions business as a whole.

Stephen brings 25 years of experience in defence and security operations with government agencies and commercial groups and has been instrumental in the growth of the Providence Group of companies and the success of the Counter Terrorism Training and Equipment Procurement Services offered by the Providence Group of companies.
